Spruce up your seafood skills in time for Christmas with the Pescatori Seafood Masterclass.
Always wanted to know how to shuck an oyster, prep a scallop or dismantle a lobster? You're in luck - Fitzrovian restaurant Pescatori, renowned for their fantastic fishy food, are launching a series of Seafood Masterclasses.
Situated on Charlotte Street (with another branch on Dover Street), family-run Pescatori has been specialising in seafood and shellfish for decades. Their menu showcases fine British fish with Italian cooking influences in a relaxed
trattoria atmosphere, and they are diligent about promoting ethical seafood.
While seafood is very popular as a restaurant dish, many of us avoid cooking with oysters, scallops and lobster because we don't know how. Fortunately, these classes are led by friendly Executive Chef Chris O'Neil, who is passionate about sustainable seafood and has over 25 years experience in the industry.
He'll guide you through the world of shellfish with an interactive class, during which you'll learn how to choose the right product at the fishmonger, preparing your dishes, the cooking process and finally presentation.
The menu includes a zingy scallop ceviche, Maldon oysters and a bulging seafood platter of lobster, mussels, razor clams, langoustines and more, all of which are designed to be easily replicated at home (and without the help of a seafood expert!). All the dishes will be enjoyed during a three course meal, accompanies by matching wines and Italian Prosecco.
Master Classes are available during the evenings for 8-20 guests, subject to availability, and are priced at £90 per person.
