The Galley, IslingtonWhat…/ Serious style meets delicious substance as siblings Oriona Robb and Marcel Grzyb launch Galley. The snazzy restaurant and bar specialises predominantly in seafood dishes cooked up with a host of internationally inspired flavours. On the menu…/ Having spent 18 years as a chef at Soho's seafood powerhouse Randall & Aubin, it quickly becomes clear that Marcel and his team know their way around a kitchen. Whilst it's no surprise that Octopus & Chorizo a la plancha with white bean purée & smoked garlic pesto packs a serious punch, even simple dishes such as the Hand-picked Cornish Crab crostini with smoked garlic aioli & confit tomatoes are bursting with flavour.  Head for something heartier and the Venison with smoked potato purée, braised cabbage & thyme gravy arrives as three delicious preparations of deer. When it comes to dessert, the sweet toothed amongst you will be in total heaven, especially with the Amaretto & Verona Chocolate Fondant that arrives as the ultimate gooey, oozy chocolaty pudding. Drinks…/ Cocktails are little on the sweet side, which is not so great for their standard cocktails.  On the flipside, it's no surprise that their dessert cocktails are awesome, including the Coco Popping (Coco Pops infused Buffalo trace, chocolate bitters, double cream)!  There's plenty of wine to choose from though, so you'll find something to suit your mood and food! We went and here's why you should go…/ The Galley provides a refreshing change to an era where the best restaurants require visitors to queue for 2 hours before sitting down at a cramped table and being thrown out 20 minutes later! The sharing style dishes are beautifully presented and are totally delicious, whilst the venue is designed to ensure guests have a special experience.  As a little tip, request a seat at the kitchen bar and you can watch the chefs works their magic too! Price…/ About £40/head on food, £10 on cocktails and £6.50 on wine Where…/ 105 Upper Street, Islington, N1 1QN www.galleylondon.co.uk
