Matcha Recipes from VIVID Matcha

It's official - matcha is having a moment. This bold green tea powder from Japan has been hailed as the latest superfood, with a natural caffeine buzz and incredible health benefits.

Don't think it's just for matcha lattes though, as this versatile little powder is perfect for including in all sorts of recipes to give them an extra jolt of flavour as well as a very Instagram-friendly vivid green hue. Check out these exclusive recipes from VIVID Matcha, and you'll be converted to the green side in no time.

VIVID Matcha Mojito

Ingredients: 
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp VIVID Matcha powder
  • 5 mint leaves
  • 2 ounces white rum
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • Soda water
For the syrup, combing sugar and water in a saucepan over a high heat. Bring to the boil and whisk until fully dissolved. Remove from the heat. Spoon the matcha powder into a small bowl and pour a little of the syrup in to make a paste, whisking vigorously until fully smooth. Pour in the rest of the syrup and continue. Tear the mint leaves roughly and place at the bottom of a tall glass. Muddle the leaves until they release their oils. Fill 2/3 of the glass with ice cubes, before pouring in the rum, vodka and matcha syrup. Top with soda water, stir, and garnish with mint leaves before serving.  

VIVID Matcha Guacamole

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 tsp  VIVID Matcha Organic Powder
  • 1  ripe avocado
  • 1 lime
  • Chilli flakes
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Cut the ripe avocado into cubes and mash until still a little lumpy. Stir in VIVID Matcha powder and the juice of one lime. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add a sprinkling of chilli flakes for an extra kick.  

VIVID Matcha Chia Pudding

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 4 tbs chia seeds
  • 1 tbs agave negtar
  • 1/2 tsp VIVID Matcha
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Mix together milk, agave syrup, vanilla extract, and VIVID matcha powder in a blender until smooth. Pour the chia seeds into a bowl or jar, and pour the matcha milk mix over the top. Stir and refrigerate overnight, then top with a selection of fresh berries in the morning.
