Gherkin Moroccan Sky Riad

Generally open only to employees, The Gherkin has opened up its doors and incredible view to the public with the launch of its Moroccan Sky Riad pop-up, open until 5 September 2015.

Tell me more…/ Elevated 180 metres above street level in one of London's most recognisable skyscrapers. The top level (Level 40) has been transformed into a Moroccan Riad for the summer, with elaborate ornaments and plush furniture, whilst Level 39 maintains a more classic restaurant vibe. The menu…/ The restaurant on level 39 provides a fancy five-course tasting menu (£59) of Moroccan inspired dishes such as Harissa prawns and Lamb cannon in a Moroccan marinade with cous cous. The Golden Dream cocktail celebrates Morocco's love of Saffron, the herb once more expensive than gold; the sweet mix of gin, apple, honey and saffron make this cocktail dangerously easy to drink. We went and here's why you should go…/ With its 360 view of London from the glass domed top floor, the view from the Gherkin is probably our favourite of all the high-rises.  The food's not going to win prizes for authenticity but it's beautifully presented and contains packs plenty of flavour.  The staff have got the art of service down to tee too.  Oh and the cocktails are seriously awesome.  So basically, go at around sunset, grab some drinks, a few bites and watch London in all its glory!
