Whilst Gin and Rum have taken the spotlight as the drinks du jour of late, the interest in Cognac has been slowly growing amongst leading bartenders and booze experts.

French Touch SQIt's no surprise then to see Martell - one of the major Cognac houses - create a snazzy bottle that the cool kids are just as happy to be seen with, as well as actually enjoying. La French Touch sees Martell hand over the design reins to French house music pioneer, Etienne de Crécy, to transform the standard V.S bottle into an electrifying limited edition bottle that reflects the French Touch music movement. To celebrate the launch, Martell's brand ambassador, Matthias Lataille, has created this exclusive cocktail recipe inspired by the collaboration. Nouveau Carré (New Square): This cocktail is inspired by the signature cubic visuals often featured in Etienne de Crécy's live performances. The fruitiness of Martell V.S is perfectly enhanced by the aromatic Lillet Blanc and the sharp bitterness of Suze. Recipe: 50ML Martell V.S 25ML Lillet Blanc 5ML Benedictine 5ML Suze 3 dashes of Peychaud's Stir well and pour over cubic ice. Garnish with an orange slice and serve in a rocks glass. La French Touch by Martell is now available in Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Amazon and Amathus stores priced at £26.25, and is the first in a series of limited edition bottle launches for 2016.
