Can't quite make it over to the Inca Trail for Peru's 'Dia del Ceviche'? Don't worry - we've compiled the best spots in London to try this fishy delicacy on it's national day.

Whether you're an Peruvian food fan or have absolutely no idea what we're talking about, the arrival of National Ceviche Day on June 28th is the perfect time to try as London's top Peruvian eateries celebrate the occasion. Originally created by Peruvian fishermen who combined freshly caught fish, chilli and tumbo fruit, there's a reason we're still eating this delicious dish over 2000 years later. London didn't quite cotton on until a few years ago, when the arrival of Martin Morales appropriately-named Ceviche restaurant introduced foodies to the wonder of this South American cuisine. While the trend for wearing hideous Peruvian alpaca wool jumpers fortunately died quite quickly, our love for ceviche is still going as chefs try new ways of serving this classic dish. The types of fish used, cutting methods, marinating time and seasonings are all debated, but the essence of the recipe remains the same - fresh, raw fish marinated in citrus juice, which effectively 'cooks' the fish. Check our pick of the best places in London for this delicious Peruvian dish!
